With its delicious peppermint scent, the leaves of Peppermint Geranium (Pelargonium tomentosum) are used to flavour tea or as a culinary herb in cakes and desserts. The leaves are also useful in pot-pourri or to scent linen, and can be made into a soothing poultice for bruises and sprains. With high levels of menthone and isomenthone, Peppermint Geranium makes a perfectly natural peppermint-scented essential oil.
A floral mint with a peppery undertone. Use Peppermint Geranium (Pelargonium tomentosum) for applications as for peppermint – to soothe itchy skin, in a burner or diffuser to deter insects, for its antiseptic properties, or in a steam bath to clear a blocked nose or for a headache.*
